Finally A Tooth

Dear Keira, yesterday I saw that you finally got a tooth! Bottom, front and center! You definitely took the longest of all the kids to get a tooth and were one of the crabbiest. Thank goodness that's over. You have also just started waving - its so cute. You like to copy our noises, especially if its yelling or growling (oh no another yeller).

Jaida's Preschool

Dear Jaida, how awesome you were for having a "preschool" for Joey.  You were literally doing this for a couple of hours - working on letters and numbers. You were very patient with Joey and I have no idea how you kept him doing this for so long. You also took a break to read to him and he just sat by you listening intently. You actually started with all the kids but Kylan eventually got tired and fell asleep on the floor and Kayla got mad and then lost interest after getting 50% on her test. She was not consoled by the fact that Joey got 0%. hahaha

Clogging Competition

Dear girls, you did awesome at your clogging competition in St. George! Your group got 1st place in one of your dances, I think Twist My Hips.

On a side note we took you all to Costco to shop and eat and I think all the adults about died of embarrassment from Kayla wanting to be dragged by the shopping cart, randomly yelling out things and then letting ice cream melt all over her hands, clogging uniform and floor while staring at the TV's. I'm glad I was in the bathroom for that.

Getting Old

Dear Jaida, today you realized its no fun getting old. There were two Easter Egg Hunts today and you couldn't participate in one of them because you were to old. You were sad and mad. However you did get to go with Keira and help her get candy and eggs, thank you for doing that! Just remember that the Easter Bunny doesn't care how old you are.

Ulg, Science Fair Time

Dear Monty, thank you for taking over Jaida's science fair project. After the last one I wanted nothing to do with it. I can't believe how much we had to yell, if we never do another science project it will be too soon! Thanks for the candy bar and cold medicine. Love, me. :)
p.s. your imitation of Kayla skipping and yelling Whooo! Whooo! through the gym is pretty funny.

Bad Dragon

Dear Kylan, yesterday you asked me to draw you a dragon. I told you that Kayla was the dragon drawer but that I would try. When I finished the above drawing (which I thought was pretty good), you said, That dragon is Bad. Oh, you like it? No!

Fruitbeer

Dear Kylan, you say some more funny stuff lately. We have some camouflage band aids and I said, its the camo ones. You said, No! Camel! So now you get to wear camel band aids. Today I asked if you wanted some rootbeer and you said, No, fruitbeer! The other day you were teaching me how to say dolphin, Dah - Al - Fin! I know there's more, I just can't think of it at 1am.

Stair Climber

Dear Keira, yesterday you turned 10 months! Today, you climbed up all the stairs all by yourself - I'm pretty sure this is the first time you've ever tried it too. You went really fast at first and as you got to the top you either were so surprised and took a moment to look around or you needed a rest. CUTIE!

Dear Jaida

Dear Jaida, I love that you are reading AND commenting on my blog. I love hearing your perspective. I'm also going to start posting all these cool pics you make since I don't have any pictures of you. Or maybe I'll have to setup a photo shoot - just you and me. :)

Leprechauns are Boys

Dear Kids, this morning I got you all up to tell you that a Leprechaun had left us some green pancakes! I thought it was awesome that you all believed me. All of you kept asking, "Why would a leprechaun leave us green pancakes." My answer was, because she is magically delicious. Your reply? Leprechauns are boys mom.

Crazy Sleepers

I know, another crappy picture. I just think it's funny how they're all sleeping.

Dancing Princess

Dear Kayla, last night was so funny, we were talking about Easter and you said, "and Jesus gets crucified every year." Haha, me and Jaida both laughed a big, "What?!"

The other day - one of the first days it got really warm, you and Jaida went to the park. You two were over there forever! I looked out the back door and I could see you dancing under the pavilion.  There were quite a few people at the park and you were dancing like they were your audience. :) It was great to watch. I hope you'll always be so uninhibited. :) You later told me that you were the princess in the castle and Jaida, Nida and the other girl were your servants.

Putting Cars Away

Dear Joey, today you had to put your cars away. We thought the world was going to end the way you cried and cried and cried. Then you started blaming Kylan. If you put all the cars away then Kylan would ruin all the fun...??? It took forever, and while you were doing it Dad peeked in and said you were using your hands and arms - no fingers and were crying that the cars kept falling. After you finally did it you were kind of proud of yourself.  Sheesh, what drama. :)

Blanket Wars

Dear Kyan, Keira loves to snuggle her head in your blanket. Especially when you are using it. I took  pictures and video the other day because you were so tired and Keira kept rolling around on you and your blanket. At first you kept crying and telling her to get off but eventually I got you to laugh at her. Pretty soon she was rolling around on top of you while you were asleep.

Scavenger

Dear Keira, you've started opening up the trash can lid and pulling out anything you can reach. The other day you grabbed and started eating an apple, yuck! The dogs hover just waiting for you to pull out something yummy.

Joey's Kindergarten Registration

Dear Joey, today you got to register for Kindergarten! You were so excited but kept making sure that I would be able to stand by you, that made me happy. I was impressed at how much you knew and we received a lot of compliments on how clear you can talk and how much you know even though you didn't go to preschool.  You got all your shapes right (she was impressed you knew 'oval'), you only missed the color red because it didn't look like a true red color (they agreed on that). You could write your name, and trace and cut out an ice cream cone. You only missed a few letters of the alphabet, U,V, Z, M and N - maybe a few more but the lady was very surprised at how many you knew from not being in preschool, "Yeah, you're a smarty." You knew all your numbers except 9, well and when she held up the one you said, "An 'I'?" You passed your eye exam and got to meet all the teachers. I can't wait for you to start school, you are ready!

Run Away Cat

Dear Horhei, hopefully you ran away from home to be your very own super hero. I will not miss you getting on the table/counters or your litter box, but you were a pretty funny cat to have around.

Stupid Thanks

Dear Kylan, tonight you took Kayla's house and were sooo mad at me for making you give it back. I said, "Come here Kylan and I will make you one. See? Come here." You slowly walk out of your room with this really mad face. When you got to me I gave you the new "house" block and you just turned around and stomped off to your room. I said, "Say thank you." You turned around and yelled, "Stupid Thanks!" Jaida and I laughed.

Meat Lover

Miss Keira, you have been full blown walking now for at least a week and now you don't want to crawl. Yesterday I saw you get off the couch (turn around and slide off) all by yourself! Who taught you that?! You are a smarty pants! We're struggling to get you to eat and sleep through the night. However you are a meat eater. You like spam, fried chicken, sloppy joes, hot dogs and tonight we had ribs! I said to you, "Do you love meat?" You immediately nodded your head up and down in headbanger fashion.

MOM!

Dear Kylan, you sleep every night like this. This is your "nigh, night." You refuse to have any other blanket on you and if you wake up in the middle of the night with another blanket on you we hear you yelling, "MOM!", at the top of your lungs for five minutes while you kick the blanket off and curl up under your nigh, night. It's so funny. You also like to chew on the ties so about half of them were missing and one whole side had come apart. Luckily Grandma Fielding sewed it up and Grandma Sitthichai put in all new ties.

The Two J Words

Dear Kids, today I finally decided to get out these blocks I'd gotten for you a long time ago. You were all SO excited. I'm pretty sure I heard squealing and Joey, you kept saying, "These. Are. So. Awesome!" After playing for about 30 minutes Jaida had the bright idea of putting all the blocks together and making one big tower. But you wouldn't let anyone help?? It was all downhill after that. Everyone screaming, crying, name calling, taking things away from each other, hitting... you have not fought this much ever! At dinner I was asking why there was so much fighting today and Dad says, "Two words and they both start with J." Funny thing was that the two J words were not even at dinner because neither wanted what we were having. Joey, you went in your room and went to bed (which was much needed, I think you cried enough today to last the rest of your life - and mine)

No More Chewing on Weird Stuff

Dear Joey, the other day I was trying to get shoes and socks on you and I hear this small explosion. I look up as you are opening your mouth and something falls out - the sound came from your mouth! You started looking really nervous and I'm getting there too, "Are you okay? Was that from your mouth? What were you chewing on? Does your mouth hurt? Open up!" Inside your mouth was all black! We run to the bathroom and start rinsing. I go back in the bedroom and there was a small round battery that looked like it had exploded open and black powder all over it. I've tried and tried to think of how to describe the sound I heard. It was kind of like a muffled balloon popping. Luckily it didn't do any damage - the sides of your tongue hurt the rest of the day and you wouldn't eat anything but that was luckily all. No more chewing on weird stuff!

Best Friends

Dear Joey and Kylan, this is the best picture ever. I'm going to blow it up poster size and hang it in your room so you'll always remember that you're best friends. Thanks Misty for taking such an awesome picture.

Little Old Lady Keira

Dear Keira, took you to the park yesterday and had to video you in the swing. It must have been that funny feeling you get in your tummy when swinging, but you were making the funniest faces. Not to mention your hair, hahaha. I thought you looked like a little old lady.

Follow Through

Dear Jaida, last Saturday you were forced to stay home from the "Ahoy, Pirates" everyone else went to. You were also the most excited for it. After all morning of ignoring my requests, not doing your chores, being mean to Kayla, yelling at me, not eating your lunch and not getting off the computer when I asked we had finally had enough. About 30 minutes after everyone had left you got on your jacket and decided you were going to walk there. I said something like, "Jaida you don't want to bring more trouble." You were also surprisingly willing to talk about the situation telling me matter-of-factly that, no, this punishment would do nothing to help your behavior. I disagree. It's been a week since that has happened and I think there has only been one time that you have not turned off the computer when I've asked. Yesterday your job was to clean the bathroom and in you went to clean. The whole thing has made for a better relationship for everyone (for this week).

I hated keeping you home because I knew how bad you wanted to go but I think following through was good medicine for all.

p.s. I'm not exactly sure why, but you ran all the way back to the park yesterday to get Kayla's tap shoes, thank you!

Bad Sleep

Dear Kayla, almost this entire week you've woken up before 6am - no matter what time you go to sleep. I'm pretty sure it is because of the medicine you have to take. What a necessary evil. You have to take your medicine so you can concentrate and settle down at school - which has been a life saver, you've been doing so well (you got 100% on your spelling test Friday). But when you take it you can't go to sleep very well and you wake up super early. Luckily you're happy no matter what but I can't wait for summer when I don't have to give it to you at all... or am I? Ha!

The Secret Parents Want To Know

Dear Joey, I know you are only five but I wish there was a way to make you realize how much Kylan loves and looks up to you as his big brother. He loves to follow you around, play anything you want and usually share anything he has with you. When you are not in the room he will constantly ask, "Where's Joey?", even if you've just chased him around the house 10 times and made him cry.  So what's the secret? I'm sure most parents out there would love to know.

You two are also at the age where everything is a contest. I win! I want to be first! I got there first! My car is faster! Mine is better! I touched it first! I ate faster! Ulg, I could go on... however I have heard that a little competition is healthy.
