Miss Kayla Likes School?

Dear Kayla, after all the problems we've been having with you at school you came home today and I was asking you question after question about what went on.  You finally said, "It's so exciting, I love school!"  Say what, what?  It turns out that you love school because you have a new teacher.  When I asked why you don't like your other teachers it's because they are rude and tell you to "do your spelling. Blah, blah, blah." 

Wow, I can't wait until the new teacher starts telling you to do your work.

Croupy Kylan

Dear Kylan, you have had the croup since Saturday and are so sick!  It is so sad to see you in such bad shape - at least we have medicine to help you feel a little better.  Your eyes are droopy all day long and all you want is for me to either hold you or sit by you. We have to force you to take the medicine but it's worth it 10 minutes later.

Dear Joey, I thought it was so funny today when you came running in the house all excited saying, "MOM, I'm going to count to ALL the numbers!"  So I said, "Whoa, are you going to count to 10?" And you said, "NO, I'm going to count to 12!!!" (but then you didn't know what came after 10, hahaha)

Performers

Dear Jaida, I loved your performance the other night (although I can't remember the song!). Joey was awesome as backup dancer - he danced the ENTIRE time!  Kylan boogied just a little and Kayla was dancing with her baby picture.  It was great entertainment! :)

At A Loss

Dear Kayla, I am at a loss as to what to do with you. You are getting into trouble EVERY day at school. Your teachers say that you like to just lay on the floor and refuse to do your work and are very disruptive during class. So then you get sent to the Refocus Room where you refuse to do your work.  I don't know how your teachers put up with that every day, it's driving me crazy and I'm not there.  The only thing you say is, "It's boring," or, "I just get distracted."   Today I sent you to your room and after that you weren't allowed to watch tv for a few hours - which is pure torture for you (and the rest of us after awhile).

No More Thumb Sucking

Dear Joey, now that you are Four you have to stop sucking your thumb.  The other night our conversation went like this:
Mom, am I still four?
Yes, why?
Cuz, on my birthday I wanted to be four but now I want to be three 'cuz I want to suck my thumb.

Happy 4th Birthday Joey

Dear Joey, I think you had a pretty fun birthday. You cried at least three times at funtime inflatables and when opening your first present from Jaida (that she made you) you didn't like it and made her very sad.  You did love your cake, although when I asked who wanted cake everyone said, "Not me!"  The day after your birthday - all day - you kept asking, "Am I still four?"

Clogging!

Dear Jaida and Kayla, this is your first and second time (respectively) at clogging practice and you two are fast learners!  Very proud of you and very happy we got you in! After watching Tara clog for years and years I never imagined I would have my own cloggers.

Parks in December

Dear Joey and Kylan, we have been going to the park a lot lately and we'll usually visit a different park each day.  How lucky that the weather has been so nice, that we have so many fun parks to visit and that I have the time to get out!  I never did this with Jaida and Kayla, poor girls.

Mealtime

Ulg, I hate this time. Dear kids, I don't know if you realize how much I hate wasting my time cooking for you. Tonight we had taco salad. Kayla, had a plate of sour cream. Jaida had to mix her own "special" melted cheese sauce to only dip chips in. Joey, you ate one chip with cheese, lettuce, meat and sour cream on it - it could have been two chips but I was impressed. Kylan, you ate one bite and then ate some cheese off Joey's plate, lettuce of another plate and then you were through too. I guess the only reason I should not complain is that we have a really low food bill.

21 Week Ultrasound

Dear new little baby, today we had our big ultra sound and you are 21 weeks old. I decided to not find out if you are a boy or girl. Dad says your profile looks just like Joey's and we caught you sucking your thumb a couple of times.  Later that night I was downstairs looking for a book to read when I came across the "Baby Names" book. Ulg! I'm just gonna let that sit on the shelf a little longer.

Kayla's Out Of it

Dear Kayla, this was you about 11am after you had been sedated and had your teeth worked on at the dentist.  You were even letting Ling lick your ice cream and then you kept eating it, yuck!  Since we just started out the new year paying almost $400 for your teeth, you'd better start brushing more!

This is you about 5 hours later - completely unaffected by anything that happened earlier.  We all love how you love to dress up!  By the way, your goal this week was to stay out of the refocus room.  You got a sticker every day except Thursday. :(  You were doing so well!!  We'll try again next week - or maybe another time.

Bragger

Dear Jaida, the other day you were finding money for me and Kylan to put in our "bank."  Kylan kept getting so excited every time you found more and we were both trying to keep him from being ornery and crying.  You told me to count the money and so as I was counting up towards $2 I was getting all excited and very humbly you said, "Mom, I don't want to brag but you should see how much money I have."  You handed me your zip lock baggie that you'd been holding all your money in and it said, $8.50!  Laughing I said, "You are a bragger."
Way to save Jaida!

Just A Phase?

Dear Kylan, maybe it's just my bad memory, but you are the only child that minds so well.  You do almost everything I ask and even do what I ask the other kids to do.  I hope this isn't just a phase.
