Today Is Actually Halloween

I keep forgetting that today (Sunday) is actually Halloween. We did all our celebrating and trick-or-treating yesterday.

Okay, so you know how in my previous post I hoped that there would be no fighting and crying?
Well below is a picture I took of Jaida tackling Kayla - I forget the reason...Monty?
So anyway, right as I'm taking the picture Monty is getting up to yell at Jaida. He tells her to get in the house and what does she do? She starts running to the neighbors. Now picture someone's blood boiling.

So Jaida finally gets in the house and is crying her eyes out saying that "this is the worst Halloween ever." In the meantime I get pictures of Kayla and Joey.

The pics turned out so awesome! Especially with our cool porch decorations! The two pumpkins on the left are Kayla's (that monty carved). Joey's is the tiny little pumpkin (that monty carved), and Jaida's is the long skinny one.
Jaida kept opening the door trying to ruin my picture here. I tried to get her to come out and be in the picture but obviously that didn't work out. So we finally sent Jaida with Hannah, Sid and Jenna to go trick-or-treating. Monty took Kayla and Joey and I got to stay home and pass out candy with Kylan.

On their way back to stop at our house for trick-or-treating, Jaida was now SO happy and everything was forgotten. I got to snap a couple of pics of her in her awesome octopus costume we made.

Jenna is batgirl, Jaida, Sidney is a vampire, and Hannah is a twister board game.

The kids had a blast trick-or-treating around the neighborhood and came home with tons of candy. At one of the houses a lady asked for a trick and no one knew what to do. Kayla looked at Monty and he said, "You could do a cartwheel?" So after clearing everyone out of the way she did a cartwheel. The lady told her she was the ONLY one that did a trick for her and gave her about 10 pixie sticks.

At the house across the street from us Kayla and Joey knocked on the door. Terry answered and they held out their bags and said, "Trick or Treat!" After he gave them some candy Kayla turns around and yells, "Daddy, he gave us some candy!"

Happy Halloween!

Halloween 2010

On Tuesday we dressed up for our ward's Trunk or Treat. I decorated my van but didn't get a picture. If I can get one that somebody took I will post that later. I just put balloons all over, hung a big, long, bright caterpillar and stuck the matching big, bright colored dragon in the trunk by me while handing out candy.

From the picture you can tell what our kids are going to be. Jaida is an octopus, Kayla a cowgirl, and Joey a pirate.

Last night we went to their school carnival. It was total CHAOS. There were about a million people there and after 10 games I was ready to leave. We of course stayed until they had used all their "game pumpkins". The kids had fun so I guess we all had fun.

Tonight we go trick-or-treating! Hopefully everyone will be happy and we'll have no fighting and crying (wishful thinking). We made cookies to give out as candy is SO expensive and you have to buy double the candy now since the candy companies are keeping the price the same but putting less in the bag. For all those that don't let their kids eat homemade treats - too bad for you - one bite of these and you'll be trick-or-treating for more.

Kayla's Birthday - 6

Wow, everyone was so awesome for emailing me back saying they couldn't wait to see pictures! I know it took me forever to get them up so sorry for all the wait. The cake and party turned out great and Kayla had a great time.

After all of Kayla's friends got there we started eating - pizza, bread sticks, chips, and chocolate milk. Kids at party's sure have a lot bigger eyes then stomachs. :)

After eating we played some minute-to-win-it games. We should have played the games and then eat because a couple of kids got stomachaches while doing one of the games. I'm pretty sure it was from all the chocolate milk though and not the food. We played the cotton ball game where you put Vaseline on your nose and use it to transfer cotton balls. Kayla got a little carried away with the Vaseline and put it ALL over her face. In the very first picture her face looks kind of greasy and that's why.

After the games we had cake and ice cream.

After cake and ice cream Monty took the kids on an awesome scavenger hunt that he had created for the kids. First they had to go outside to the swings, then they came in to look under the fish tank, then outside to the chicken coop, then inside somewhere, then back out to the garden.

Finally at the last clue Kayla got to use the GPS and lead the party to the "treasure". Monty had them all go single file through the yard and Kayla led them around the van a couple of times until Monty said, "Stop! I think it might be in the van..."

...and it was. Kayla's new bike! She was so excited and climbed right in and on top of the bike. The other kids also got a small "treasure". The boys got a hot wheels car and some candy and the girls got a small princess tiara and wand with some candy.

Kayla loved her bike. While everyone else went into the backyard to bounce in the jumpoline she rode around on her bike out front with Jaida. She tells everyone that it has a backpack with straps to keep it on the bike.

That night Jaida and Kayla were laying under a table coloring in the book she got for her birthday. Kayla discovered that the crayon box had a sharpener in it. Kayla really wanted to sharpen the crayons and Jaida says, "The crayons don't need sharpening, they are already sharp. You only sharpen them when they're dull." After a few seconds of silence Kayla says, "What's dull?" Jaida says,"Dull is not sharp." So Kayla looks at her crayon and says, "this doesn't look dull to me. It's undull." So that was that and no crayons got sharpened that night.

After a few more minutes of coloring I hear Kayla say, "This is boring."

She loved her birthday, the cake, the party, and especially "the end" (where she got her bike).

The Year 2010 Brings Me To 35

But at least I'm not 38 (monty, hee hee)

I had the best Birthday weekend! Friday I took the kids to our ward's Family Dance - 80's theme. I went with the full intention of not dancing and ended up dancing almost the entire time. There were hundreds of balloons all over, a DJ with all the lights and a bubble machine (which the kids went crazy over), and a guy doing balloon animals. She had also decorated a wall to look like a pacman board so we could get our picture taken in front of it. They had put so much time and effort into everything and only six families showed up. Oh well, more balloons for my kids. They each got a balloon hat, dog, and sword plus a ton of blown up balloons - Sammo is STILL going crazy over the balloons! Needless to say we danced the night away to 'Can't Touch This', 'Love Shack', and 'Glory of Love'. We did the electric side, the hand jive, the conga, and a girl taught us the Thriller dance. Needless to say we danced the Friday night away. Sadly I have no pictures. There was someone taking picture but I haven't been able to get a hold of her.

Saturday I took Joey & Kylan to a small carnival at the park. Joey got to dunk a guy by throwing the ball (it was totally staged but funny). He got to play on the bounce houses, run around and eat pizza - all by himself. Then I went to a boutique to check out all the latest in home parties. I took Joey and knew he would fall asleep but took him anyway. I had him in a stroller and he fell asleep. People kept coming up and saying, "Your son is falling out." He would slump to the side and almost fall out - too funny.

On Sunday, Monty got up early and made breakfast. Then took the girls to the store (shame) and came back with Birthday presents (yay)! At church I got to see Jaida and Kayla in the Primary Program. They both said they're parts very well and did a great job singing. Luckily Misty came to help me with Kylan and Joey because as we were leaving for church Monty got called into work. Right before Kayla stood up to do her part Monty walked in in his camo pants and Sheriff shirt.

After church we went out for some geocaching around three peaks. I think we found either three or four that day. When we got back I was washing dishes or something but everyone came up the stairs with a BIRTHDAY CAKE!! It was so awesome, I've decided that you just can't have a birthday without a birthday cake (thanks Misty).

Misty took all these great pics!

Shay and Judy gave us their portable fire pit and I got all these roasters for my bday!

Cutest kid in the world! :)

Kylan did some tricks for me as his birthday gift.

My boys are cuter than your boys!

Jaida holding Eloise or Speckles. Only the kids know...
