Lost Dog

Last Thursday both of my dogs got out of our backyard. They probably had only been gone 10 minutes when I discovered them missing. So Jaida and I got in the car and drove around for about 30 minutes looking for them. About 30 minutes after we got back to the house Sammo came home - his eyes were bloodshot and he looked exhausted. Monty didn't get home until almost 7pm and when he heard that Rocky hadn't come home yet he went right out looking. Monty kept coming back to the house and then he'd go back out again. He made a "Lost Dog" sign, and went and bought a color cartridge to print out 20 signs. That night he slept downstairs on the futon with both the front door and back door open a little bit in case Rocky came home. I came downstairs and he had a few blankets piled on top of him and was wearing a beanie to keep his head warm. It was cold downstairs! The next morning Monty, Jaida, and Misty went driving around and then went to the animal shelter. They came back to the apartments just north of us and Misty got out to put up the first "Lost Dog" sign. All of a sudden here comes Rocky - running out of one of the apartments. I guess the lady and her daughter found him the day before and were looking for the owners, couldn't find them and were waiting 'til the next day. I'm sure my dogs wish they could run off more often - it's a lot more exciting than sitting around the house all day.
