Flint & Steel Skills

Check out my awesome sparks!
Dear Monty, thank you for re-teaching me how to start a fire with flint and steel. I finally did it and it was awesome! We will definitely have to put a higher grade "steel" in our packs instead of the crappy one that comes with the flint.
Using the knife was so, so, so much easier to create the sparks.
And thank you Jaida for getting the fires going after we caught the cotton balls on fire with our awesome flint and steel skills!

    We did go on a picnic. We had three fires going and roasted hot dogs and marshmallows. The had a blast running through the rocks and making houses, nests and food storage places. :)

    Dad, do you still do these kind of things with your scouts? Show them the different ways to build fires and stuff?
